Ah. I am now, officially, the newest employee of Adidas. I went to fill out
and sign the necessary paperwork for my start date. I gave him a list of my
appointments I had already set before getting this job and asked him about
my maternity leave. My benefits are supposed to kick in immediately, but he
still has to ask how long I am allowed to be off work. He had no problem
with my having to leave, although it's only in the next 60 days. When it
came to my pay... Man, was I ever surprised that he offered me exactly what
I was thinking I would accept as my lowest rate of pay... Then he added the
$0.25 to it and now I'm very pleased with my rate of pay. He joked around
with me and told me how much I impressed the interviewer and that he trusted
his judgement and is very excited to have me on the team. He gave me my
uniform shirt and told me I could make my first purchase at 50% off. So I'll
be buying a new pair of sneakers for work. Hey, I gotta represent the
product, am I right? *grin* Anyway, I'm really excited about starting. So he
asked me if I wanted to start on Monday, and I, or course, said yes! So I
start on Monday at 10AM. We agreed on 10AM just so I can figure out how to
work my travel schedule. I have a lot of travel to do.
- 4:50A - I wake up and take a shower, drink my coffee, watch the
weather/news - 5:50A - start waking up the kids
- 6:15A - Julian gets himself dressed, I'm getting Jade dressed
- 6:25A - eating breakfast
- 6:50-7A - finishing up and getting out of the house
- 7:15/7:25A - catching the bus to get Downtown
- 8:15A - dropping off the kids at the sitters
- 8:20A - on my way to school/work
So I have pretty full mornings. Sometimes it's not that hectic, but
sometimes Julian gives me a hard time with getting ready or deciding to walk
super slow and literally stopping to smell the roses. There are days
when everything goes perfectly, but children have their good and bad days.
So, yep. I start working on Monday for a pay that I'm content with. Plus,
they're letting me have the perfect schedule. Yay! I can actually be home at
night to feed my family and put them to bed. No more night times (well, only
once a week). Plus, no Saturdays and every other Sunday. WOO HOO! I'm so
excited. Finally, a job I can really look forward to.
The baby is cooperating with my constant travel and exercise. I'm the
fittest I've ever been in this pregnancy. Kinda cool. I love it.
In other news, Chris and I are looking into a new place we saw in the city
by Julian's school. It has 3 bedrooms and it costs less than where we're
living now. It's a second and thrid floor apartment... I'm really looking
forward to checking it out this weekend because I want to be able to be
closer to his babysitter and his school (for district purposes) and then
it's closer to the Main Bus Station hub so that I can catch the buses
without as much travel. I can just walk to the sitter, drop them off and
then walk over to the next bus stop a few blocks up. Rather than the mile
walk to the first bus and the constant walking or switching. This will cut
my travel time for kid drop-off by about and hour and a half. I would only
have to wake up at 7AM to get them ready, fed and by 8 we can be out the
door (depending on the work and bus schedule) and on the way to the sitter.
It'd be great... But we have to see if we can do it. We're not completely
sure yet considering this place is up for grabs in two weeks, but we're
going to look into it, the sheer convenience of it is really tempting, but
it is smaller than our current place, but it at least has 3 bedrooms for the
kids. Julian is used to having his own room and he can't share the room with
Jade because of him being older already... So we'll have to see. We're going
to look at the place this weekend to see if it fits what we need. I mean the
location is prime for us... but will it fit our style? It's supposed to be
smaller, but we'll manage. I mean, I like cozy homes, don't you?
Other than that, nothing new. I probably won't be on for a while,
considering I don't have too much access to the internet. I hope that things
will continue to go well for us... Not much time left to go. I'll try
emailing from my phone, although it won't be as long as this email-blog...
Take care! Hope to return soon.
